Do you ever find that your the one always apologising, or keeping the peace? That's me. We could be friends, fight and race to make amends.
Today I waved an olive branch, and it was accepted. This is ironic, as
most of the fights my friend and I have had are about trees.
How did I apologise today?
Me (when passing ex-friend): 'Hello, don't you talk to me anymore?' (Set to accusatory tone).
An opening line, not well thought out at all.
But that's all it took.
Maybe now it's your turn?
Don't throw away 25 years of friendship like we nearly did.
I had a moment tonight like this but with a painter who ruined my portrait. Scoundrel. I refused to look at him and he refused to look at me. And we shall leave it like that.
ReplyDeleteSometimes it is time to let go though... I think people come into your life for a reason, season or a life time and sometimes that person was only meant to be part of your life for a certain time or reason. Sometimes I think we hang on to relationships when really we just need to move on - send them love and light and move on. I have been caught in the past by trying to 'do the right thing' in relationships because I have know the person for a long time or they are family but now I just let the past go and know that new experiences and friendships are just as important.
ReplyDeleteI have heard that Facebook makes us hang onto people that we woudl otherwise be rid of. Whilst this is true, I am a bit of a 'hanger' unless someone is truly awful!
